General Description: The Pantanal is still one of the world's most pristine environments. Kayaking gently along the Correntoso River and local waterways is an ideal way to feel the abundant wildlife that inhabit this special place, including herds of capybaras (giant rodents), wild pigs, marsh deer, rheas (flightless birds), magnificent jabirus storks, caimans (South American alligators) by the thousands, pink spoonbills, blue hyacinth and multi-colored macaws, parrots and hundreds of other species of birds. Hiking tours offer views of anteaters as well. Morning kayak trips (about 3 – 4 hours) suitable for non-experts are generally followed by hiking, driving safaris, and visits to local attractions during the afternoons. Our option C invites you into wilderness area which is so wild that you have a good chance of hearing the Puma roar, seeing the anaconda, the wild boar, marsh deer and animals that have rarely shared their locations with human beings. The camping option is strictly for kayakers who can brave the wilderness area. Radio communication, guides and cooks will accompany you on this version. Please be advised that life in the Pantanal is life in the wild even when staying at pousadas, life at wilderness camps will be an adventure unlike any other you have ever taken.
