Riding is available for all levels of riding but beginners are encouraged to take riding lessons at $25 and hour with discounts for families. Intermediate and experienced riders will enjoy half and all day rides, herding cattle, team penning and other cowboy stuff. There is no nose to tail riding and all riding occurs in wide open spaces of cattle ranch and adjacent public lands including two mountain ranges. (We let beginners do all of the above except on separate rides) The ranch herd consists of 38 horses. Horses will be Western mixed breed, suitable for cattle work, trail riding, durable and sensible. Experienced riders only in June and September. |

| Bonanza Creek Ranch is located on 25,000 acres of spectacular riding abutting endless miles of public land including nearby Crazy Mountain and Castle Range with 7 other ranges you can see on a clear day. 10 or so guests will share the ranch 1500 head of cattle and staff to assist. Riding lessons are available for beginners at a small fee, and are strongly recommended. Fisherman will have to obtain a local license at a fee of $10 to go after the rainbow, cutthroat or brook trout in well stocked fishing ponds on the property. Children 4 to 5 will ride with their own special wranglers. Twice a year nearby local rodeos are good fun. the property also offers wagon rides, and visits to local historical areas (delete buffalo as it is now an extra side trip requiring a fee) filled with buffalo. There is even specialized riding for those with special cognitive or physical needs. during part of the summer. The ranch offers trail riding according to your experience and comfort level for half and full day rides on wide open spaces and without nose to tail riding. There is plenty of great riding including open meadow, canyon, wooded mountainside, and surrounding mountain ranges. There is also riding devoted to the needs of the ranch like working the cattle including moving them from pasture to pasture, gathering the bulls and so. There is also team penning a horseback arena sport for beginners or the more advanced involving three team members versus 3 head of cattle. It's great fun and will test your skills! activity involved moving cows from one end of a pen to another, in order and on horseback. |

Airport transfers are available form Bozeman (100 miles) or Billings, Montana (140 miles for $150 round trip per group. Rented cars are another way to reach ranch and afford the luxury of allowing you to appreciate in greater depth the spectacular area you will be enjoying your holiday. |

Home cooking is the style of meals at this ranch. That means full hardy breakfasts, lunches depending on where you are that day and big plentiful meals with homemade this and homemade that. Finger 'lickin' good. There are four separate sweet-smelling cedar log cabins) suitable for family unit or singles. There is an even an Tepee tent that sleeps four for those wanting to experience some time as the Native Americans did, closer to nature, for a night or two. Fine luxury accommodations greet you with authentic western or antique appointments built of sweet smelling cedar logs. |

Temperatures in July and August are typically low to mid 80's with a breeze and cooling in the evenings. June and Sept can bring rain and cooler weather but are beautiful with wildflowers abundant in June and crisp fall days and nights in September. |
