Located on the west African coast between Nigeria, Gabon and the Central African Republic, Cameroon is an international destination with amazing variety in regional culture and landscapes. There is a moderate horse culture in Cameroon and horse racing is popular at national festivals, particularly in Foumban and Kumbo. There are a few local riding stables offering tourist rides, but no known large riding centres or horse riding holidays in Cameroon.

We are always looking for new riding destinations and regularly update the information on this site. If you have information about horse riding in Cameroon please do contact us.

Cameroon has been nicknamed ‘Africa in miniature’ due to its geological diversity, with sandy beaches, mountains and savannah to deserts and some of Africa’s oldest rainforest. The country has west Africa’s highest mountain. Cameroon is one of the richest countries in Africa and has a number of national parks with lots of African wildlife so game viewing safaris are popular. Cameroon is particularly known for its large herds of elephant. Music and traditional arts and crafts such as wood carving and sculpture are very important to Cameroon culture, not to mention football!
