Riding Holidays | Channel Islands - England
The Channel Islands form an archipelago located in the English Channel, off the coast of Northern France. There are five main islands.
The landscape of the Channel Islands is naturally beautiful and simply breath-taking. In Jersey, the largest of the islands, the varied countryside is made up of rolling hillsides, open fields, areas of forest and a coastline of rugged headland and tranquil beaches. There are great hacking options and also fantastic spots for beach riding – Grève de Lecq and Green Island are both gorgeous beaches with glorious golden sand in abundance. For thrilling rides along the wild coast of the Channel Islands, head to Guernsey, where the south coast has many trails along untamed cliffs, with outstanding views out to sea and all around. Also not to be missed is the Channel Island Way – an exciting 110 mile route that unites the best coastal routes on all five islands.
There are numerous riding schools and equestrian centres on the Channel Islands, offering lessons and various hacking options and endless beach rides.
