New Mexico shares a similar horse history to other western States of the USA. Before the existence of the motorcar horses were the only real transport to cover the huge distances out west. There are still wild horses to be found in New Mexico and a few wild horse preserves dedicated to the protection of the surviving descendents of the original Spanish horses brought over to America hundreds of years ago.
While in New Mexico for a horse riding holiday why not visit some of the nearby interesting geographical and historical sites.
