Riding Holidays | The Gambia

The Gambia is a tiny country in west Africa which apart from a small Atlantic coastline is completely surrounded by Senegal. The Gambia is known internationally for its fantastic beaches, although it also has several impressive national parks, plus the mangroves and wetlands along the Gambia river, excellent for bird watching.

The Gambia has many working horses and donkeys, most of which are used as draught or pack animals. The Gambia Horse and Donkey Trust is a charity working in The Gambia to educate local people about horse welfare and improve the conditions of working horses in the country.
