Dumfries and Galloway is situated in Southern Scotland, just over the English border, and is well-known for its unique collection of rare wildlife and numerous nature reserves.

The riding opportunities in the Dumfries and Galloway countryside are very varied. From sandy beaches and dramatic cliffs to open moorland and picturesque forests, the rugged scenery has something for everyone. Trail rides are available through the sweeping valleys and over the mountain-top ridges, beach rides can be experienced on the spectacular Scottish coastline and forest riding is very popular in Galloway Forest Park. The forest park (Britain’s largest at three hundred square miles) is home to an exceptional array of wildlife and offers diverse scenery in all directions.
