Riding Holidays | Nebraska
Located between South Dakota and Kansas, Nebraska is set right in the heart of the Great Plains agricultural zone. The State is known for its corn growing, sheep farming and cattle ranching and Nebraska has quite a few guest ranch holidays and working cattle ranch vacations available. Choose from trail riding on traditional western trained mounts such as Quarter Horses, Morgans, Appaloosas and Paints, or learn to rope and round-up cattle on a working farm. Nebraska is a land of wide open grassy prairies, rolling hills and long rivers. It is an ideal landscape to explore on horseback.
Horse riding holidays in Nebraska are all about western riding, although most horse riding disciplines are actually represented within the State. There are quite a few riding stables offering English style riding lessons, local shows with dressage and jumping classes, specialist horse breed shows, western reining competitions, endurance riding and polo events. These shows are often taking place throughout the summer months, particularly around Lincoln and a worth visiting if you are staying in the nearby area.
